This is a 3 hour show that I've done for the past 18 years on radio CKLN during Black History Month (February) that features a panel of Toronto, Ontario Black addicts and alcoholics sharing their strength, hope, and courage...their stories that detail where they've been, what they did to recover, and what life is like for them now. The first 2/3rds of the show has the panel sharing their experiences, with the remaining 1/3rd of the show fielding questions and comments directed to the panelists. I initiated this show in hopes of getting more Black women and men to check out the various 12 step programs (AA,CA,NA)that were available to them, and to show, with the panelists help, that there is a solution and that they don't have to suffer alone and in silence. Also, I'm a Black man who has benifited from the 12 step program of recovery. The show has become one of our stations most anticpated events.... Enjoy!
